Fall 2010 -- we are looking to add an 18u Magic team to expand the program to include all levels. Contact us at mvyaasoftball@gmail.com for information about Magic tryouts.

10u and 12u Magic -- tryouts for open spots by appointment.

14u, 16u, and 18u Magic -- OPEN TRYOUTS will be conducted:

SUNDAY, AUGUST 22 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Mt Vernon High School.

BELIEVE IN MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!

The Mount Vernon Magic teams are select tournament teams sponsored by MVYAA-Softball. The Magic program began as a continuation of our house all-star teams' play, i.e., after the house all-star tournament in June, our all-star teams wanted to continue to play together in tournaments over the summer. Thus, the Magic program was born in 2003. For our first two seasons we played as the Mount Vernon All-Stars (with teams at 12u and 14u) before formally adopting the name Magic in 2005. In 2006 we added a 10u team and in 2008 a 16u team.

Teams typically form their rosters in March (for the spring/summer season) and August (for the fall season).

Unlike most other "travel" organizations, the Magic respects and encourages girls' participation in recreational (house) softball as well as high school softball. Our younger Magic teams are basically house all-star teams, largely drawn from our joint house league (see House page).

Magic teams typically register and play in events by various sponsoring organizations, including: FCGSL (Fairfax County Girls Softball League), NSA (National Softball Association), ASA (Amateur Softball Association of America), Pony, USSSA, and FAST.
